Whether it is a private collector or a cultural institution, these questions are crucial for every important and coherent collection. The CID - centre for innovation and design at Grand-Hornu keeps on acquiring design pieces since its foundation in 1984. Nowadays, this collection pursues three goals: defining the originality linked to the program of the center, transfer a certain world vision and supporting the production of experimental and unpublished works. Through a selection of the purchased works especially from the last 5 years, the CID will share its methods, its challenges and its favorites.
